The Society for Women in Marine Science was founded to bring together women in marine science across all career levels and to promote and celebrate research done by women in the field. Our Texas Chapter of SWMS brings together women in marine science from institutions all across the state of Texas to create a community of women in marine science all across the lone star state.
NEWS & UPCOMING EVENTS
UT STEM Girl Day is an annual event hosted at UT Austin for K-8 girls to participate in hands on science demonstrations by scientists in their community. This year, Texas SWMS will host a table providing students with the opportunity to see live corals and anemones and coral skeletons as well as conduct an experiment demonstrating the danger of ocean acidification to coral reefs.
